About Lindsey

I specialize in working with individuals aged 18 and older, as well as couples who are facing a range of life and relational challenges. My therapeutic approach is founded on collaboration and empathy, with a primary focus on validating and understanding my clients' perspectives and lived experiences. My goal is to see you as you truly are and support you in becoming the person you aspire to be.

My journey as a therapist is a second career for me, rooted in a lifelong curiosity about the diverse ways people experience life. Prior to my work in therapy, I served as a business owner in the tech industry, where I managed event production and project management for Fortune 500 companies. Additionally, I founded a technology startup that developed applications for Windows Phone, iPhone, and Android platforms. My professional background also includes experience at Microsoft Corporation and Apple Computer.

These high-pressure and fast-paced roles showed me firsthand the transformative impact that effective therapy can have on an individual's mental, physical, and relational well-being. In mid-life, I decided to pursue my passion for becoming a psychotherapist. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Communication from Western Washington University and furthered my education by obtaining a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Capella University. I derive immense joy from my work as a psychotherapist, where I offer non-judgmental care and collaboration to help clients navigate life's most challenging seasons.

My diverse life experiences have given me a strong foundation of compassion and awareness, which I use to help you address your current struggles. When working with me, you'll experience a somatic-focused approach, where we explore the connection between your thoughts and bodily responses. By tuning into these sensations, you can gain valuable insights, understanding, and self-compassion as you navigate your current difficulties. In our therapy sessions, I often inquire about "where" you feel something rather than "what" you feel, helping you comprehend the holistic impact of your experiences. This understanding can unlock the "why" behind your behaviors, responses, feelings, and emotions, facilitating lasting change. I often remind clients that change begins with small steps, as self-awareness helps us recognize the initial stages that lead to a more fulfilling life or the transformative change you desire.

I particularly enjoy working with individuals who grapple with shame and self-criticism cycles, as well as couples where one or both individuals are neurodiverse. My passionate approach revolves around helping individuals foster self-trust and self-acceptance, both on an individual and relational level.

I was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest and currently reside in North Seattle with my identical twin teenage daughters. Apart from my work as a therapist, I am an enthusiastic DIYer and artist who also revels in outdoor activities such as backpacking, mountain biking, and paddle boarding.
